High scope Daily Routine Curriculum
At Sunflower Nursery, we use both the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) Curriculum and the High scope Daily Routine.
The High scope Daily Routine starts with a Story Time followed by a Greeting and Message Time. The rest of the day is divided up into Small Group Time, Large Group Time, Song Book Time, Plan- Do- Review Time, Snack Times, Outdoor Playtime, Indoor Playtime and Quiet Activities Time. It creates a structure to the day and helps children learn through a combination of planned activities, free play, self choices and first hand experiences. The routine encourages children to socialize with others and experience small groups of children as well as exploring and investigating toys and activities alone or with a supportive staff member.
Phonics Sounds and Letters & Additional Activities provided
We at Sunflower Nursery follow the Phonics: Letters and Sounds programmed and plan activities to support and encourage children though fun activities that promote speaking and listening skills.
Using the High Scope Daily Routine and the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) Curriculum, we encourage the children to make their own choices which helps to develop confidence and independence.
